Gabe De Guzman is a composer for films and concert works. Recent film works include Barrio (dir. Sydney Villa) which was awarded for Best Drama Short at the San Diego Film Awards 2024, Los Ayeres De Hoy (dir. Emilia Perez Rocha Santos) which was awarded Best Student Film at the San Diego Film Awards 2024, Hey, I Found Your Dog (dir. Ruth Ann Kvamme), I’m Not Schizophrenic (dir. Melvyn Aka and Tom Stiel) and Like Mike Tyson (dir. Niko Cordero).

Gabe’s concert works include commissions from groups such as The Hausmann Quartet, Westwind Brass, San Diego New Music and many solo performers. Gabe has also had performances by San Diego State University’s Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony, Gulf Coast Chamber Ensembles and many student chamber groups. Another recent project was as an additional orchestrator for the Radio Musical Extrastellar which was screened at San Diego State University and is available for streaming online.

Gabe graduated with his Bachelors in Global Composition at San Diego State University and is currently pursuing his Masters in Screen Scoring at New York University.
